White is not pure or virginal

It is the utter intense orgasmic joy of all colors coming together in perfect harmony.

It is full of adjectives, all of which are passion derived.

The white is around us all of the time, it knows not sleep.

Yet it is unattainable, i.e, that which you were searching for was with you all of the time.

Flies can ruin the moment because they try too hard and though iridescent they are still black.

~Alesda Maderi, 1994

I want/need more white, virgin, canvases ~ Maderi, 2013

Reinvention of Self - Who am I and What is my Purpose in this World?

I look in the mirror and say self - You Are Full of Yourself

I can begin here. It is probably the simplest if one begins with their own self. Who better to know you than yourself? It sounds simple. Yet it is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. It is simple. It is just not easy.

Being full of yourself is not being selfish in the vulgar sense of the word. Being selfish is taking responsibility for knowing who you are and projecting that at all times. Being full of yourself can be ugly if ugliness is what you have chosen to give to the world.

Being full of yourself means rejecting excuses for you. Good or bad, accepting all of yourself is necessary towards growth. Accepting your truth frees you to be and do. Once a truth presents itself to you, you are free to reject it. Rejecting truth does not negate truth. It makes negative auras twice as large. Truth will come to you again with a higher price tag for your acceptance. Truth works on its on schedule and cares nothing of your time to dedicate to it.

Being aware that you are full of yourself frees from fear. If you are what you are full of, many obstacles are removed in life once truth is accepted. Truth is not always pretty or kind. It just is. We cannot change it as it stands. It will always be the same, in that moment, for eternity. The next moment may not be the same truth, but the truth that just was cannot be another truth.

Truth can be different for others without negating your truth. One can speculate on another’s truth, but one cannot own it nor change it. Truth belongs to all and to no one. It needs no membership endorsements by any person or organization.

Fill yourself with your truths. Fill them with truths of peace and love and understanding and be full of yourself. Accept the ugly truths that have passed and those to come as challenges. It is simple. It is just not easy. And it’s just a start…...once you accept truth, you will question what you thought was truth, seeking knowledge.

I know I am full of myself. I'm just not full yet.

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.  Henry David Thoreau

A friend recently sent me that quote, saying that as he read it, he thought of me.  It's relevant.  Timely.  Another way of expressing, "Carpe Diem!"  Seize the Day!

Being an artist, identifying myself as an artist versus the admistrative professional that I have been, has been a scary proposition.  Surely, someone will see that I have no clue as to what I am doing!  I was wrong.  I am sharing images from my mind, and other people enjoy them.

Many of the works that I am posting are from 2010.  As I have them photographed and posted to this site, I am reminded of the stories that went into their creation.  As I post them, others share with me their thoughts, their stories.  This has brought me to experience New Love in a different way.  I love "being" an artist!

There is a story in every painting.  Find it and make it yours.

They're finding it!  Opportunities have come to me just by putting myself out there.  It's scary.  Different.  But I no longer stash my works behind the bookcases to live with the spiders.  I'm launching myself on every wave; I may fall down, but then again, I may ride it for a long time.

Yeppers.  This tiny baby girl came into my life.  Now she is a beautiful woman, ready to welcome a new soul into her own life.  She's managed to be all those things that many thought that I should have been, despite having been given me as her parent.

This year, my life changed again.  I discovered love in a different way.  I decided to BE the artist that I always have been, to accept all the rejections in my life as mere training for that to come.

But I could not have done it without the love and accomplishments of my children.  They are my heroes.

They taught me happy love.

I love to paint.  I love the feel of the ink as I transfer the stories of our lives on these paths that have revealed themselves to me.

I had been encouraging (and chiding) my son to venture into the art realm with his B & W photography works.  He turned that around on me, noting that I continue to create works, yet do nothing with them.

Surely financial gain is of consideration.  I truly would just give them all away to those that admire my interpretations of the world.  Some people write these stories, I paint them.  I do not care for fame, only that the owner that chooses to hang one of my works is inspired or entertained or simply finds beauty in adding these shapes to their walls.

So here I am, getting my feet wet in this world of selling and marketing art.  I will slowly make it up to my thighs, then go ahead and take the plunge, perhaps wondering why I did not do so from the outset.
